What a force of nature in a very compact coupe: with the new ABT TT-RS a powerful 501 HP (368 kW) is now available with ABT POWER S. That is an impressive 161 HP (118 kW) more than the dynamic series standard model from Ingolstadt. Even with ABT POWER there is still 420 HP (309 kW) available, and with it the TT accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds (series standard: 4.6 seconds). The top speed is then 282 km/h. “It goes without saying that with 501 HP the TT is even more sporty”, says Hans-Juergen Abt. The General Manager of ABT Sportsline explains that the innovative ABT Turbo charger is applied on the POWER S version. With it the TT-RS sprints easily to 100 km/h in just 4 seconds and accelerates on powerfully up to a top speed of 292 km/h. Driving enjoyment, sportiness and the feeling of DTM and ADAC GT Masters champions – at ABT the abbreviation “RS” now more than ever stands for Racing Sport.

Christian Abt is responsible for the excellent driving characteristics and perfect tuning of the ABT TT-RS. “Maximum motorsport feeling with maximum everyday usability” – that is how the experienced racing driver characterises the features of the new vehicle from Bavaria. Anyone who drives the ABT TT-RS knows what its cool features are, and even those who only get to see it for a short time quickly recognise which mould it is cast from: this is because before you can count to three, the powerful Kempten car is already off and away.

As a suitable addition to the fastest ABT TT of all time it is recommended to mount the classy sports alloy wheel creations BR and CR in standard 20 inch. The latest highlight is the
ABT CR Superlight in a sporty 19 inch. The cool design wheels are, of course, also available in combination with high-performance tyres. Anyone who wants to travel fast needs suitable tyres – and Christian Abt has used his experience to also take care of this: “The car is controllable in all situations. Only by ensuring this is it also fun to drive a sports car on the road.”

It is the new big ABT. “With the new A1, premium quality can now be experienced in all classes”, says Hans-Jürgen Abt. The General Manager of the worldwide largest tuner of vehicles from the VW group stresses that driving enjoyment and agility are particularly important characteristics of the ABT A1. The latest ABT is also a real sports car. Thanks to ABT POWER the cool little car brings more performance to the road: with the 1.2 TFSI the standard 86 HP (63 kW) becomes a dynamic 115 HP (85 kW), while the larger 1.4 TFSI now offers 150 HP / 110 kW (compared to 122 HP/90 kW) after the rejuvenating therapy. The economic diesel engine with 1.6 litre cubic capacity is now even better nourished: depending on the basic performance, up to 125 HP (90 kW) is put to work. Thanks to the performance springs and the lower centre of gravity the A1 also lies “full” on the road – and in particular ensures enjoyable car driving on winding country roads.

Cool, trendy and extravagant – all good things come in threes with the new ABT A1. This is because the innovative yet traditional company offers precisely this many different design versions. All versions of the ABT A1 are real eye-catchers: the bright red KLECKS (literally “splash”) model with its casual splashes of colour stands for the urban lifestyle in the A1. ALOHA is the laid-back “beach boy” for everyone who prefers relaxed enjoyment. The “evil brother” of these two versions is always a live-wire: HIGH-VOLTAGE is the name of the “most toxic” skull design of the ABT A1. All three versions of the new big ABT reflect its characteristic appearance in clever details: fender inserts, the rear apron insert, rear spoiler, mirror covers, the front lip and side skirts are set in the offensive colours of green grass (HIGH-VOLTAGE), lavender (ALOHA) or brushed aluminium (KLECKS). And even the foot mats pick up on the design. It has never been so nice to rest your feet on good taste.

ABT Sportsline can also mount a sporty double-pipe sports rear muffler and the five-spoke wheel Z in the dark “Titan” colour. Available in 17 or 18 inch, when paired with the ABT Alloy rings in the colour of the ABT design, the alloy always seems one size bigger than it actually is – and the A1 thereby even more dominant. It goes without saying that complete wheel sets are also available with fitting high-performance tyres. This is because regardless which ABT A1 the customer chooses, he/she gets a dynamic vehicle from the top class. The ABT MOTORSPORT logo on the upper edge of the windscreen of each A1 signalises where the newcomer is from. The ABT A1 is a red blot (KLECKS) on the monotonous landscape of “normal” cars, calls out a bold ALOHA to the silver and black majority and energises its drivers with HIGH-VOLTAGE.

Premier for ABT Sportsline: For the first time the readers of the German magazine “sport auto” have voted the Bavarian tuner to be “Best Brand”. The readers have however not chosen ABT Sportsline to be “Best Brand” once, but twice.

The worldwide biggest tuner for cars of the Volkswagen Group, convinced with its typical ABT design in the category “Optical Tuning”. That the German tuner is also a benchmark in regards to power enhancement has been honoured by the readers by voting ABT as “Best Brand” in the category “Motor-Tuning”. “That is the acknowledgement for our long lasting work. I am happy that the readers of “sport auto” do honour this,” says Hans-Jürgen Abt. For the CEO of
ABT Sportsline this double is the incentive to work on innovative, perfect and successful products.

There is still a long time until 1st January 2015, but even now car manufacturers are wondering how they will be able to meet the exhaust emission standard Euro 6 which will come into force on this date. For tuners it is also important to actively deal with the coming conditions. “It is our task to meet the growing demands of ecologically sensible mobility so that the driving enjoyment still remains”, says Hans-Jürgen Abt, the General Manager of ABT Sportsline, the innovative company rich in tradition from Bavaria. As a result the “ABTs” are not just looking at alternative drive concepts, but also at the legal requirements of tomorrow. “The three litre turbo diesel in our ABT Q7 already meets some of the stricter regulations compared to European Standard 5, and further vehicles and engines are currently being planned and will be certified by TUV Rheinland”, explains Hans-Jürgen Abt.

In fact the tests only have to be “officially” performed after 1st September 2014, to check whether a new vehicle model meets the strict emission limits for carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), hydrocarbons (HC), nitrogen oxides (NOx) and fine dust particles. Particularly with regards to nitrogen dioxide, hydrocarbon and nitrogen oxide, European legislators are demanding much lower limits. As a result from 2015 just 80mg/km of nitrogen oxide will be allowed to be emitted, compared to 180 mg/km as was previously the case. The ABT Q7 3.0 TDI Clean Diesel is the first vehicle from Bavaria product range to meet this standard – the future begins now at ABT Sportsline.

The next big ABT

What a year: following highlights like the AS8, the R8 Spyder and the extremely fast R8 GTR the next big ABT is now in the starting blocks. From 28th July the world’s largest tuner of vehicles from the VW group will be presenting the new ABT A1, a spectacular car based on the compact premium model by Audi. The Bavarian company from Kempten of course remains true to its reputation and ensures that the new recruit “flies out of the blocks” right from the start. ABT is about reveal how much more ABT POWER is available to the engines of the A1 at its presentation. In any case the beautiful compact car will offer plenty of driving pleasure, particularly with its suspension components, dynamic aluminium wheels and other sports accessories. Brochures, the online configurator, fact sheets with technical data and much more will be revealed in August, the month of the ABT A1. 

Choose your favourite design – the new A1 is already good in three versions

ABT Sportsline has of course also designed this Audi so that it retains its cool character – but is still recognisable as a true Bavarian sports car. Three fresh designs are available and as looks are a matter of taste, the tuner is letting fans choose the designs from 28th July to 11th August on its Facebook page. Will the cool Aloha win out or the funny and charming A1 called Klecks? Perhaps the ABT community will go for the evil High Voltage design with its “toxic” skulls? The result of this exciting contest will of course also be announced on Facebook. Anyone who wants to take part just has to enter “ABT Sportsline GmbH” in the search field of the social network site and become a fan. ABT will be giving away an exclusive journey in the DTM racing taxi, two VIP tickets for a DTM weekend and much more to some lucky participants, enough to make the hearts of real ABT fans skip a beat. So it’s worth taking part when the next big ABT is presented to the community.

Although only just released by Audi, ABT Sportsline is already presenting its version of the new premium limousine A8, the AS8. The luxury liner has been decently yet confidently tuned by the Bavarian company. “With us this extraordinary vehicle doesn’t lose its character, we underline it”, states Hans-Juergen Abt the General Manager of ABT Sportsline. Even the intention of the Ingolstadt car manufacturer to consistently focus on light construction, indicates how: the A8 is a sporty gentleman, even more so after the power treatment at ABT. Initially the potent turbo diesel with a 4.2 litre cubic capacity has had its performance improved, and other versions will follow soon. “The machine fits the large limousine perfectly”, says Hans-Juergen Abt in justification of the decision. The series standard 350HP (257kW) is raised by ABT to 385HP (283kW). The torque of the modern diesel engine is impressive: 880 Nm (series standard: 800 Nm) ensure that the luxury liner can easily cope with any situation. Relaxed journeys and sports handling at the limit – everyday business life is particularly enjoyable with the ABT AS8. This is thanks to the air suspension, which has been tailor-made to meet the demands of this extravagant car.

The elegant-sporty car from Kempten also knows how to impress optically: the front spoiler, side sills, the rear aprons with the tailpipe cover and the three-piece rear spoiler underline the design of the limousine and give it a sporty touch. The new ABT CR alloys, available in expressive 20 and 21 inch sizes, are ideal additions to the overall concept: the wheel is classy, seems light yet has a powerful presence, and discreetly attracts attention. This is particularly the case in combination with the phantom-black coating, which makes the ABT AS8 look classically-modern and sublime beyond all contemporary aberrations. The fact that a touch of dynamism and aggressiveness does no harm to the luxury liner is shown in the details of the vehicle. The ABT AS8 has been optimised to meet the high demands of its drivers: ABT Sportsline has not changed the elegant glider into a racing car, but carefully into a confident and sporty automobile.

The R8 Spyder is not just a cabrio, it is a teasingly beautiful open-top sports car of the top class, a real dream car – in particular ABT Sportsline’s version. Their designers have contoured the lines of the open-top model athlete, and using the ABT R8 Spyder has redefined the word “roadster” with Bavarian thoroughness: the result is a vehicle whose power can be seen even when it is at a standstill. spoiler as well as the dual-colour coated ABT BR alloys have been adjusted to the dynamic design of the car. As with the closed R8 versions from ABT, the team has designed all the components in order to achieve the sports car’s optimum distribution of weight; all the parts are therefore made from carbon. As a result the performance can be converted into a maximum of driving enjoyment. Anyone who wants to systematically reduce the weight of their Spyder should use the new ABT CR Superlight alloys, as they also excellently suit the character of the ABT R8.

The V10 with 5.2 litre cubic capacity is used in the ABT R8 Spyder: this provides 600 well-trained horses (441 kW) – while in the series version there are 525HP (386 kW). The Spyder is able to sprint from 0 to 100km/h in just 3.8 seconds and achieves a top speed of 320 km/h. The roadster is therefore a hurricane for the road, giving lovers of fresh-air a new “tangible” term. Suspension springs from ABT provide even better handling, which in particular has a positive effect in the threshold regions of the Spyder. In addition the lower centre of gravity gives the mid-engine sports car an even more aggressive appearance. When you take a look at the car you can see that it is one of the fastest of the fast – and is really ready for anything, as you would expect from an ABT R8.

The VW van has always been a diverse vehicle – both with regards to its possible uses and the customising wishes of its owners. Be it as a camper van or a lifestyle transporter, the father of all vans can do everything and transport anything. “It has also long become the ideal tuning object” states Hans-Jürgen Abt. For the General Manager of ABT Sportsline the van is a guaranteed success: “Above all it is due to the fact that the fundamentals have been excellently manufactured, and the vehicle is no longer just a means of transport”, says Hans-Jürgen Abt. Consequently the tradition-rich Allgäu company has also taken on the latest version of the diverse Wolfsburg van. The designers have developed attachment parts for the van, which make the ABT Multivan a real large-capacity sports vehicle. Regardless of whether it is taking a family on holiday, the sports vehicle is being taken to its place of installation or is required as a shuttle service for business partners – with the ABT Multivan the journey is more extravagant and dynamic. True to the VW motto “Why be like all the others?” the transporter becomes a classy individual automobile, which confidently shows where it comes from.

The front grill gives the Multivan even more presence and underlines the striking face of the transporter. Due to the front spoiler the tall vehicle seems to virtually crouch on the road. The different parts of the bodywork form one unit, which gives the van a trace of exclusivity and sportiness: the front section, side sills and BR alloys in a representative 19 inch size provide contours on the long sides of the large-capacity liner, the rear spoiler and the 4-pipe rear muffler signalise that the all-rounder is a real ABT vehicle. The “icing on the cake” is the rear wing, as in every ABT Multivan there is also a racing vehicle. The design elements which have been precisely adjusted to the character of the cross sports vehicle are available from now at ABT Sportsline and its partners, while the engineers at the Kempten company are still working on the additional ABT POWER upgrade for the 2.0 TDI. The extra power is intended to be perfectly tailor-made for the unending possibilities the large-capacity vehicle offers and meet the diverse demands of the ABT Multivan.

When ABT Sportsline deals with the VW Golf, the result is traditionally a compact super sports car. This is because the world’s largest tuner of vehicles from the Volkswagen group has given all generations of the successful Wolfsburg car an optical and technical boost. The current super Golf answers to the letter R, which announces the most important characteristics of the car: the “R” stands for “racing” – it transports the experience of ABT, which has recently defended its DTM title and won the ADAC GT Masters. Instead of the series-standard 270HP (199 kW) the engine now offers a dynamic 310HP (228 kW). With a high-speed of 261 km/h the ABT R20 is especially fast – and it is also capable of quick acceleration: it sprints from a standstill to a speed of 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds.

“The compact car is really good fun, particularly on corners”, states Hans-Juergen Abt. For the General Manager of ABT Sportsline each Golf is a challenge which he and his team are happy to confront: “VW gave the Golf dynamism when it was in the cradle – it defines sportiness in its class. And the Golf R is the champion of fast Golfs.” Optically, some interesting details provide the vehicle with a particularly self-confident appearance: the ABT Daytime running lights, front apron and front lip make the Bavarian car seem even more powerful and perfectly harmonise with the new CR alloy. The especially light design wheel looks exceptional on the ABT Golf R, particularly in 19 inch. Fitting high-performance tyres are, of course, also available, meaning that nothing stands in the way of the especially agile shape of the Golf sport. The newcomer to the Golf family is, of course, absolutely suitable for everyday driving and is good-natured and not touchy in heavy traffic. But look out when it let’s loose…
